Days 4-7

Hello everyone, Today was my eighth day in school, and I already want for summer to come back, so I can start sleeping in again. So what’s new with me, you may be asking yourself. Well, lets see, I’m waking up at 5:45 every morning. I might have a new puppy dog. My kitty is no longer sick. And last but not least I’m sadly waiting until “The Invisible” comes out, so I can watch it. But I know that you don’t really care about all of that, you’re just here to see what happens on days 4-7 in Europe, so here you go.

Day 4

Today we participated in an environmental project, involving sea turtles, at a turtle rehabilitation center. We had three rotations to go to. On the first rotation we got to see most of the injured sea turtles at the rehabilitation center. Volunteers worked there feeding and washing all of these injured turtles that had been injured on rocks, on boat propellers, or any other way they could have gotten hurt. On our second rotation we all played a game to show us how hard it is for baby sea turtles to make it to the ocean alive. In the last rotation we shopped around a little bit in their gift store, all the money spent there goes to help the injured sea turtles. Later that day, after we went to the turtle rehabilitations center, we went to the Epidaurus. There we got to see the world famous, well preserved 4^th century Amphitheater. Our guide ended up talking one of ambassadors into getting up on the stage and singing for us, and she wasn’t just singing in front of us either, there were tons of other people there to.

Day 5

Today we went to Olympia. We didn’t get to go on the field though, because all of the workers that worked there were on strike. We were all happy enough though imagining all of the naked men running around out on the field. We later took an all night ferry ride to
Italy.

Day 6-7

We went to Pompeii today, and got to see all of the amazing sites located there. I took several pictures of two victims, from the Mount Vesuvius eruption, there. Later we climbed all the way to the top of Vesuvius; it took almost two hours to climb to the top. It was very hard, it was a steep slope the whole way, and the ground was very sandy so we were all slipping the whole way up. We ended up losing four people on the way up, who had to go back to the bus. We all probably had a pound of rocks in our shoes. When we reached the top, we were in the clouds, we saw everything: the shorelines, the houses, stores, everything. It had to be the best day of the whole trip.

Day 2-3

Hello everyone.

Sorry for not posting a blog yesterday, and to make up for it I’ll be posting two days worth of blogs today.

Day2

Today we learned how to do three different dances. The hardest had 18 steps, while the others only had 12, and 6 steps. Later on that day we went to the Acropolise, and climbed to the very top. I was apart of the slow group which stopped every two minutes to take pictures. After we climbed all the way back done the Acropolise, we went to get slushies. At around 9:00, when it was starting to get dark, we went back to where we had learned how to do the three different dances to watch professional dancers dance. That night we ate at a place called EΣΠΛΓΟΡΙΟΝ ΙΤ ΠάλιάΑδήγυ, which had extremely good food.

Day3

Today was one of the most laid back days we had the entire trip. Today we went island hopping, swimming, eating, and drinking coke all day. Later (after getting sun burnt), we went shopping, and then back to the hotel to go to sleep.

So, here I am back from France, Italy, and Greece, and do I have so much to tell you! So much, in fact, that I’m going to have to split up my journal entries to fit it all in. Everyday come and visit my site to see a journal entry about a new day. Today, I’ll tell you about Day 1, and then tomorrow I’ll tell you about Day 2.

Day 1 Today my parents and I got up really early and made our way to the airport to meet up with the rest of the group. After we were all there and accounted for, we made our way through the check in line. After that, we had a little time to split up and go eat and hang out with our parents. Later, after our time was up, we sadly left our parents and went through the security line, and went off to wait for our plane to come and take us to Washington D.C. Our plane to Germany was huge. It had about 12 sections of seats, two aisles, and about 60 rows of seats. Most impressive though is the face that it had two whole levels. That flight was our longest. It took over six hours to get from Washington to Germany, but our last flight to Athens, Greece (even though it was only a three hour flight) felt the longest, because we were almost there. Greece has a six hour time difference, so even though it was close to 3:00 in the afternoon there it was really late at home. So, we were all really tired. When we got there they wouldn’t let us go to bed, “Because we had to get use to the time difference”. It was okay with me though, because instead of sleeping we went out to the beach and swam for the rest of the day. After that we ate supper and went to bed.

Sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. With it only being a few months until i go to Europe it’s been kind of frantic. Sooooo anyway we drew a raffle ticket and the lucky winner was Raymond, Mary, and Ben Jordan (They were all on one raffle ticket). Well anyway, congratulations, and better luck next time to all of the other wonderful people who helped me out.

Show the World How Messy My Parents and I Can be Day

Tonight I was sitting on the floor cleaning out my backpack (Which was really messy). When I got everything separated I started to shred all of the papers I didn’t need, which helps make recycling them easier. As I was shredding the millions of papers, little pieces of paper were every where on the floor. My giant mess inspired me to come up with a new special holiday, its called Show the World How Messy My Parents and I Can Get Day. On the holiday I will be getting grounded by my mom for putting pictures of our messes up on the web for you all to see. Enjoy

Still raffling an iPod

Friday I went to the movies with some friends, we watched Deja Vu. It was really good. The next day I went to a dance at my school, my friends and I danced the night away (not really all night). The next morning, I was dead tired. Sooo anyways, enough about that. On to Student Ambassador stuff…

It’s been a good week.

Went to my first meeting

Well on Jan, 13 I went to my first official People to People meeting since being accepted, it went great. I met tons of people that are going on the trip. I got a picture taken with the two group leaders of the trip, Sara and Martin. They are very fantasicool people. I am looking forward to going on the trip with them. The meeting was very fun, we talked about passports, and ways to raise money for the trip. We got to know each other a little better.
